Some families are able to claim back the money spent on employing a nanny.
When employing an Ofsted Registered Nanny, there could be several types of financial support available to you.
Tax Free Childcare
If you're a working parent with children under 12 (or under 17 for disabled children), you can open an online account to pay for registered childcare. The government will top-up the money you pay into the account.
For every £8 you pay in, the government will add an extra £2. You can receive up to £2,000 per child. If you have a disabled child, you can receive up to £4,000 per child.
Universal Credit
You may be entitled to universal credit childcare support if you are on a low income.
Universal credit is offered to employed and self employed parents. You can claim up to 85% of your eligible childcare costs for children under 17.
You may be eligible to claim up to £646 a month for one child, or £1,108 a month for two or more children.
Childcare Grant
You may be eligible for help with your childcare costs if you are a full-time, higher education student and have children under 15, or under 17 if they have special educational needs.
You could receive a grant that does not have to be paid back and is paid on top of your other student finance. The grant covers up to 85% of your childcare costs offering a maximum of £183.75 a week for a single child or £315.03 a week if you have more than one child.

The majority of our nannies are able to register with the scheme and it costs a nanny £103 a year to do this.
Some nannies are already registered, but many nannies will wait to see if a family requires Ofsted registration. In this scenario we encourage the family to fund, or part fund, the cost of a nanny registering.
All Sunrise Nannies are:
- Childcare professionals
- Interviewed and vetted by our owner, Carly
- DBS checked
- Continually referenced checked
